When Richard, a tired university professor, receives a diagnosis that completely changes his life, he decides to throw away all claims and conventions in the wind, and to live his life as bold and free as possible. With a sense of incisive humor and a bit of insanity, he passes excessively through every vice: drinking, smoking, and sex, throwing hoarse insults to anyone who upsets him, things that give him more pleasure than he ever had. His exuberant journey and the assault on the present state while he is living his maximum time, makes him reconcile with the truth and embrace, in a final effort, the people he loves.
