In 1972, a tragic event marked aviation history: Uruguayan Air Force Flight 571, carrying a rugby team to Chile, suffered a devastating crash on an isolated glacier in the middle of the Andes. Of the 40 passengers on board, only 16 managed to survive the initial impact. Surrounded by a frightening landscape and facing extremely harsh weather conditions, the survivors were forced to adopt drastic measures to maintain their existence. Their struggle for survival in one of the most unfriendly environments on the planet has become an example of courage, determination and the human instinct for survival.
