Inspired by real facts, the film follows the appearance of Silk Road, the infamous darknet site that sent a seismic shock across the Internet. The young Ross Ulbricht, idealistic and eager for success, creates the first market without rules on the Internet, Silk Road. But when it becomes a circuit through which millions of dollars of illegal drug trafficking pass, Ross embarks on a collision course with Rick Bowden, a disgraced, very unpredictable and clever DEA agent who will use any means necessary to catch him.
