I Am Mother (2019) follows the story of a lone daughter, “Daughter,” who is the first of a new generation of people raised by “Mother,” a kind robot designed to repopulate the earth after mankind’s disappearance. However, their unique connection is threatened when a stranger injured inexplicably arrives with alarming news. At night, the stranger doubts her mother’s intentions and everything she told her daughter about the outside world as she begins to discover the structure of their island family. Without knowing who to trust, the girl begins to investigate the dubious nature of the robot, discovering the truth about her most important mission.
