Lizzie is a divorced mother and an emotionally unbalanced woman fighting for custody of her son. Her life is turned upside down when she crosses the road with Lola, a little girl she thinks is the daughter she lost seven years ago in a fire. Unable to give up her suspicions, Lizzie befriends Claire, Lola’s mother, gradually entering her life, to the astonishment of her own family. Claire begins to become incredulous when she discovers that this strange woman has started to systematically follow her little girl, appearing everywhere. As Lizzie’s obsession intensifies and her behavior becomes more and more disturbing, Claire confronts Lizzie, who brings out deeply buried secrets, while a shocking truth is revealed.
