Inspired by real events, The Mustang (2019) tells the story of Roman Coleman, a violent convict who has the chance to participate in a rehabilitation program involving the training of wild horses. Roman, a prisoner of a rural prison in Nevada struggling to escape his violent past, has to attend a therapy program as part of his social rehabilitation. Observed by a veteran trainer and helped by a friendly mate, Roman is accepted in the selective training section of wild horses within the program, where he finds his own humanity tame a stubborn mustang. At first, he struggles to connect with horses and his colleagues alike. But in time, working alongside the young condemned Henry and Myles trainer, Roman seduces a particularly angry horse as he faces his own violent past.
