This drama follows the story of a harmless, but profoundly sinister thief, whose injustice escalates exponentially when he becomes a friend with a career killer. The blond crutches and angelic blue eyes of Carlitos, a 17-year-old, contradicts his confused and violent soul. From an early age, he stole just because he could, a fascination he could not escape, to the sorrow of his loving and honest parents. When he meets Ramon at his new school, Carlitos is immediately attracted to him, and together the two embark on a journey full of discovery, love and murder. Killing is just a facet of violence that continues to escalate until Carlitos is finally detained. Because of his angelic appearance, the press calls him Carlitos “The Angel of Death.” Carefully overwhelmed by his beauty, he becomes a celebrity overnight. In total, it is believed to have committed more than 40 thefts and 11 homicides. Through this turbulent and confusing character, Ortega offers a meaningful reflection on how violence is glorified on the screen.
