Not far from the ancient city in Mali, Timbuktu, lives ranch Kidane (Ibrahim Ahmed aka Pino) who leads a quiet life with his wife Satim (Toulou Kiki) and their daughter, Toya (Walet Layla Mohamed). In the city, people are suffering terribly, having no hope, because reign of terror that they imposed jihadists determined to control their faith. Music, laughter, or even football cigarettes were banned altogether. Women have become true shadows, but resist with dignity. Every day, new makeshift courts give judgments absurd and tragic. Kidane and his family were spared so far from the chaos that is going on in town, but that will not last too long because their destiny will change abruptly.
