Cam (Mark Ruffalo) is a man from New England who was diagnosed with bipolar disorder in 1967. His African-American girlfriend, Maggie (Zoe Saldana), marries him despite suffering from the disease, largely because in the 1960s, mental health was relative anyway. A decade later, Cam is a father of doă rattling, but a husband increasingly unpredictable and hard to capitalize on it for Maggie. Unable to commit to Cam, is nervous and subsides in a mental hospital. As you begin a treatment, Cam Maggie comes up with a plan: to move to New York where she will be able to get a diploma and he take care of the girls during this time. It is a terrifying idea, but “crazy” enough for it to work.
