November 8, 1939, Germany. Adolf Hitler delivers a speech to the Nazi Party leaders Bürgerbräu brewery in Munich. A bomb explodes but Hitler and Joseph Goebbels, Heinrich Himmler and Martin Bormann had already left the building a few minutes ago. The attack is a failure. Caught in the Swiss border while trying to flee, Georg Elser was arrested and then transferred to Munich for questioning. To the Nazis is clearly about a plot and suspects that Elser is a pawn in the hands of a foreign power. Nobody would have thought that Georg Elser, a carpenter modest, could commit such a foolish gesture. But outrage against the brutality of the regime has turned him into a hero.
